WHY HERE? WHY NOW? WHY US?

YS MAGAZINES
why us?

QUALITY WRITING HAS EVERYTHING TO DO WITH ADVERTISING
Studies have shown that the number one factor affecting a magazine ad’s impact is how absorbing the articles are. Why? Readers treat their favorite magazines like their favorite authors. If they’re engaged, if they respect and trust a magazine and its writers, they won’t just wait around for the newest installment: they’ll seek out and read all the back-issues, buy subscriptions for stocking-stuffers, adorn their coffee tables, their night stands and most importantly, read and re-read. This type of loyalty is our editorial mission and the long-term exposure our sponsors deserve.

A PAID MAGAZINE MEANS BUSINESS
An unrequested, “freebie” magazine that arrives in the mail, amid the bills and catalogs, has a better chance of reaching a trash can than an actual audience. On the other hand, a magazine that is paid for at the newsstand or through a subscription is hard proof of a reader’s interest. A reader who pays, plans to spend time with their purchase. Our Yuba-Sutter Community Magazine understands the work of maintaining a paid periodical. It means a commitment to quality writing, relevant topics, innovative design and customer service. As a result, we can be honest with our sponsors when we say, “your audience is definitely listening.”

IN PRINT & ONLINE
Particularly in today’s economy, we know all to well that when it comes to an advertising budget, every penny counts! We have gone to great lengths to keep our costs competitive and our advertisement value unmatched.

—In addition to ad placement in print, our sponsors are listed on our website at no additional cost.

Strategically placed links from one quality website to another are the cornerstone of online success. These types of links will help to improve the overall visibility of our sponsors’ websites by giving them an additional tool to assist in advancing their websites in search engine results (Google, Yahoo, etc.).

2. ADVERTISEMENTS THAT CLICK
Our sponsors renew their advertising commitment—strong evidence that Our Yuba-Sutter Community Magazine grabs readers and delivers results. We take just as much pride in our ads as we do any other feature of the magazine. We also recognize that each business has unique advertising needs, so please speak with a sales representative about our wide range of ad services and products.

5. SHELF-LIFE THAT WON'T GATHER DUST
Our Yuba-Sutter Community Magazine is a bi-annual publication; every issue offers enjoyable and thought provoking articles that never outgrow their relevance. Also, as a guide to community events, businesses, organizations and resources, many readers refer to past issues for years. Finally, Our Yuba-Sutter Community Magazine is “souvenir material.” With its elegant, “book-like” feel, it is far more likely to be saved and cherished than a typical magazine.

SUBSCRIPTIONS
A subscription-based magazine means a greater commitment to quality and a higher regard for what people want and value. Our Yuba-Sutter Community Magazine will begin accepting subscriptions this upcoming year.

OUR NEIGHBORS
We’d like to introduce you to Yuba-Sutter neighbors. New in 2010, this section will feature local people and proves, once and for all, there’s a little extraordinary in everyone. Anybody can make a difference.
